Dr. Lulin Gao, as one of Panel members of Patent Law Harmonization, was invited by USPTO to attend Asia-Pacific Patent Cooperation in the 21st Century Forum held in Washington from March 6, 2011 to March 8, 2011, and meanwhile participated in the discussion on international Patent Law harmonization, which was highly appraised by the participants. Brief Introduction of Panel members:

1. Nicholas P Godici: Chairman of the Panel of Patent Law Harmonization, Executive Advisor at Birch, Stewart, Kolasch & Birch LLP, Served as the Commissioner for Patents at the USPTO, and also served as Acting Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the USPTO.

2. Jeong-Hun Heo: Representative Patent Attorney at JH HEO Patent & Law Office, Served as a senior Patent Examiner at Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), and also appointed to be a Vice President of Korea Patent Attorneys Association (KPAA).

3. Shinjiro Ono: Former Deputy Commissioner of the JPO, Senior Partner and Patent Attorney at YUASA and HARA.

4. Geoffrey Yu: Senior Advisor and Adjunct Professor at National University of Singapore, Visiting Professor at IP Law Center of People’s (Renmin) University of China, Member of International Advisory Committee at Peking University International IP Centre, Served as Senior Specialist Advisor at Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Law, Deputy Chairman of Singapore IP Academy, and Deputy Director General of WIPO.

5. Jorge H. Amigo: Director General of the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI), Awarded by WIPO with the Gold Meal in 2008 in view of long-term service for the Intellectual Property Rights Practice and remarkable success he has achieved, Chairing 2010-2011 of the Intellectual Property Rights Panel of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Mechanism (IPEG-APEC).
