Dr. Lulin Gao, Chairman of East IP, attended 2008 annual conference presented by Industrial Research Institute (IRI) in Florida from May 12 to May 15, 2008. During the annual conference, Dr. Gao delivered keynote address titled "Chinese Patent System and Globalization", the abstract of which is "China has been consistently pursuing the policy of globalization through the reform and opening up to outside world for last 3 decades. In addition to reduction of tariffs and non-tariff barriers, market access in goods and services, China has established and continuously improved the IP laws and patent system that has finally been made in full conformity with the TRIPS Agreement of WTO. The progress achieved by China in improvement of patent system has been widely recognized by outside world. In order to further harmonize Chinese patent system worldwide and promote its globalization, the author also indicates the shortcomings of current Chinese patent system and the way to improve it."
Dr. Lulin Gao was invited to teach "Advanced Course for Sino-American Patent" with four professors and senior patent attorneys from U.S.A. and introduced Patent law and practices in China within two days after the conference. The participants in the course are mainly directors of research and development department of American large-scale companies.
