On April 10, 2003, our Chairman, Dr. Gao gave a speech on Pharmaceutical Innovation and IP Protection at a seminar sponsored by the China Intellectual Property News and the R&D-based Pharmaceutical Association in China. Journalists and editors from the medical columns of key Beijing media were also invited.

Dr. Gao gave a general introduction to the development and present situation regarding the protection of pharmaceutical inventions in China in his speech, but his speech then focused on the current situation and trends in pharmaceutical invention protection around the world as well as the effect, challenges and significance accession to the WTO has brought to China in respect of pharmaceutical invention protection.
